CRAIG CAMPBELL: LIVE
Internationally acclaimed stand-up Craig Campbell as extended his first solo national tour Craig Campbell Live, for a second time, by a further 22 dates bringing the total number of shows to a massive 116. The tour sees Craig perform across the country from the far-flung Orkney Islands to the south of Cornwall, as well as taking in London’s Bloomsbury Theatre for the first time. This second extension is hot-on-the-heels of Craig’s return from the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and kicks off from 24th May.
Craig supported Frankie Boyle on his 120 date nationwide tour, performed on Dave’s One Night Stand (DAVE), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Three), and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One). He was also responsible for easing the contractions of an expectant mother who laughed so hard at his performance on Dave’s One Night Stand – in which detailed an encounter with a badger – that her waters broke.
As a natural raconteur, Craig is able to find humour in the mundane, instinctively able to entertain and amuse. Typically dressed in his beloved ‘I love cheese’ t-shirt (synthetic and a bit wiffy) and a khaki (undercover police concealment) shorts number, sometimes substituted for leather trousers, the strapping ex-athlete commands his stages with vigor, befriending the audience with boisterous reenactments from his travels.
Craig was the notorious host of Canada’s legendary Ed’s Night Party, and headline guest on numerous Canadian TV shows such as Jim Carrey Live, The Dennis Miller Show and Just for Laughs. He is a firm fringe favourite having made his Edinburgh debut alongside Tony Law and Dan Antopolski as part of comedy trio The Dinks which won great critical and box office success, leading to an invitation to perform in the Best Of Edinburgh programme in New York. He has since supported Rich Hall on his international tour and had two further successful solo shows in Edinburgh.
Craig Campbell will be performing at The Bloomsbury Theatre on 25th May 2012, 8pm

Matt Fisher, aspiring rockstar, comedian and Billy Joel fan, and “one of the most exciting comic character creations on the up-and-coming comedy scene,” takes to the stages of some of London’s leading independent comedy venues this spring in his new one-man show. Matt, the alter-ego of critically-acclaimed comedian Joz Norris, aims to present the Ultimate One-Man Show, an evening of dance, song, comedy, observation, self-help, chat, flirtation, mime, crime and boasting in a no-holds-barred extravaganza.
ALEX HORNE, SEVEN YEARS IN THE BATHROOM
12TH – 17TH MARCH, THE SOHO THEATRE

From 12th March 2010, Chortle Award Winning comedian Alex Horne will perform his new show Seven Years in a Bathroom – the ultimate stat-based fun-packed thought-provoking experimental-and-sometimes-stupid hour-long comedy show – in venues nationwide, including a run at London’s Soho Theatre.
Alex Horne has spent more than a decade building shows around niche subjects like bird watching, Latin, dictionaries and quantum mechanics including Making Fish Laugh which saw him nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award. Now he’s decided to raise his game. Alex is going to have a crack at life itself, and to mark this massive shift he’s going to write the rest of this in the first person.
I like statistics. I particularly like the one that says, “If the history of the earth is condensed into a single year then humans only arrive at five to midnight on New Year’s Eve”. That’s a good one. Mainly because it makes you think, blimey, just in time; isn’t the earth old and isn’t my tiny life insignificant.
I’m going to show you exactly what it would look like if a human life was condensed into one hour. That’s the big idea. You may well have heard that in your life you’ll spend two years queuing, two weeks kissing and three months opening jars, well, now you’re going to see what that would look like in the context of your entire life. There will also be some jokes, but mainly it’ll be a typical human existence squeezed into an hour.
There will, of course, be some nifty presentation techniques (I’ve moved on from PowerPoint to the mighty Keynote), but the big news is I’ll be attempting several things for the first time ever in public: wearing a bathrobe, drinking exactly 100 ml of cider and simulating sex to name a few. It’ll be about as rock and roll as a geek like me could ever dare dream!
