“I’d say it’s really important to be comfortable on stage and be yourself. Don’t try and do what you THINK people will find funny, do what YOU find funny. When I first started I found myself writing a lot of one-liners as they seemed to come to me easier than other stuff, but I soon found that I wasn’t enjoying performing them very much (even when they went down really well) as it wasn’t me. I was painting a picture of someone that was completely alien to my own personality and whilst that may work for some people, it left me feeling a little underwhelmed. However, since I’ve been doing stuff that I really believe in and relate to, I enjoy it a million times more.”
