Comedy Blogedy: How would you describe your comedy?
Joe Charman: Well unintentionally I’ve taken to ‘edgier’ material, although I don’t like to categorize …I don’t force my comedy on people, I have a cheeky approach to darker subjects I guess.

On 15th March 2012, 7 UCL undergraduates and 1 Cambridge University undergraduate took part in Humour Me: Live!, a show organised by Comedy Blogedy and Bright Club. In February, the acts received a training session with Bec Hill, some of which can be seen on the trailer for Humour Me: Live! The acts then performed their stand-up gig at the Wilmington Arms with David Morgan as MC and Naz Osmangolu headlining the show. The week after Humour Me: Live!, the acts took part in a Q&A session about stand-up and the comedy world with Jonathan Grant, Red24 Management. Comedy Blogedy: How long have you been gigging in stand-up?
Tony Cowards: Off and on since 2004. I started out helping out at a great comedy club in North London called “The Comedians’ Graveyard”, which was a fantastic club but is now sadly deceased. Originally I was just a behind-the-scenes helper but eventually I ended up on stage and never looked back.

Comedy Blogedy: How long have you been gigging in stand-up?
Dean Sekhon: I’ve been doing it quite infrequently since November last year, so not very long, about 4 months, but I’ve made it on to comedyblogedy.com already so I must be doing something right.
Comedy Blogedy: How would you describe your comedy?
Dean Sekhon: It’s more or less just some silly, self deprecating, one liners strung together with very tenuous links. It also involves never remembering any of my jokes when I’m on stage, but that’s not an affectation, I’m just an idiot.
A Letter from the Editor – Humour Me: Live!
Posted: March 21, 2012 Filed under: Comedy, Humour Me | Tags: Comedy Blogedy, David Morgan, Humour Me: Live!, Naz Osmanoglu, Steve Cross 1 Comment »On Thursday 15th March 2012, 7 UCL undergraduates, 1 Cambridge University undergraduate and the Head of Public Engagement at UCL took part in a comedy show at The Wilmington Arms presented by Comedy Blogedy and Bright Club called Humour Me: Live!
The show was sold out and there was an amazing buzz in the room as everyone watched the acts perform, and for many of the acts it was their first stand-up gig! David Morgan was a wonderful MC and Naz Osmanoglu performed a superb stand-up set, both of whom have certainly picked up a new load of fans!
The show also raised £150 for the charity Mama Biashara!
I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has taken part and supported the show. In particular, Steve Cross from Bright Club and UCL Public Engagement, for all his help and support in organising Humour Me: Live! and running the gig.
Bec Hill who provided a fantastic training for the students about performing stand-up comedy and writing material, which you can see in the trailer for the show filmed by Shyam Popat, also a UCL undergraduate.
Jonathan Grant, from Red 24 Management, who provided a very useful, interesting and insightful Q & A session with the acts from the show about getting into comedy and the comedy industry in general.
And, of course, a massive thank you to everyone who came to the show and everyone who has supported Comedy Blogedy from its inception.

Ed Gamble, stand-up comedian and one half of the comedy duo Peacock & Gamble, co-presents the final show of Humour Me in the series with Sara Shulman. The show features interviews with Tiernan Douieb, who apart from gigging as a stand-up also runs Comedy Club 4 Kids, and Laura Lawson, co-founder of School of Comedy, and both give a great insight into the world of children and comedy. There is also an interview with Ed Gamble and you can find out about some of the best shows and comedians to watch over the next few months including Ben Target and Liam Williams, The New Wave Tour and Laugh Out London gigs and Edinburgh previews.
The show features original theme music written & performed by The Noise Next Door!

Comedy Blogedy: How long have you been gigging in stand-up?
Damon Blake: I started in 2007 and was able to get to the semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny after a couple of gigs, but my head wasn’t properly in performing so I soon quit stand-up having won nothing, my only trophy being my regret. I’ve started to do it again a liiiiiitle bit more recently to promote a webseries I made with some friends called Student Teacher.)
Comedy Blogedy: How would you describe your comedy?
Damon Blake: It’s sarcastic one-liners delivered in a narrative in an attempt to hide any sort of personality. Some people use stand-up as catharsis, I prefer to curl up into a ball of sadness every night, like some sort of glum grub.
