In 2012, a brand new comedy night extravaganza took Edinburgh by storm and has now firmly placed itself as one of the capital’s most popular comedy nights.
This March, a year after a fantastic first night and an even stronger follow-up show in October, Punchline once again returns to the Usher Hall with another stellar line up. Defining a generation of new classic comedy, Punchline brings you the rising stars in the UK just before they become household names: Pappy’s, John Hastings, David Trent, and hosted by Charlie Baker, winner of Let’s Dance for Comic Relief.
Produced by Edinburgh born and bred Rosalind Romer, this third instalment will be yet another unforgettable night of tip-top comedy! Dare to see the best before the rest and book early!!

PAPPY’S
Pappy’s was the hottest ticket in town at the 2012 Fringe, receiving a galaxy of five-star reviews and a nomination for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. They are currently on their fourth national tour. Separately, they have appeared on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Meet The Parents, Miranda and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Come and watch Pappy’s doing what they do best; performing sketches, songs and silliness.

JOHN HASTINGS
Award-winning John Hastings has been performing stand up since 2006, and having worked all over his native country Canada, decided a change of pace was needed. With this, he set out for the UK to entertain audiences across the country, engaging them with his sharp punch-lines delivered through his observational storytelling style.
‘A strong calling card for a thoughtful and observant comic with enjoyably wry sensibilities…we’re in the hands of an appealing consummate pro’ CHORTLE

DAVID TRENT
2012 Edinburgh Comedy Award Newcomer Nominee and 2011 Barbican New Act of the Year finalist, David Trent is a phenomenon. Wielding a unique mix of music, video, animation and comedy, he is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. His original style defies categorisation – it simply demands that you see it to understand what everyone else is raving about.
‘A creator of bold, category-defying comedy’ THE STAGE

CHARLIE BAKER
Winner of Let’s Dance For Comic Relief 2011, Charlie’s instant likeability and charming delivery style has made him a popular face on TV, including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The IT Crowd (Channel 4), Doctor Who (BBC), and Miranda (BBC). He has given the definition of entertainer a modern twist and there is no one else quite like him on the circuit.
